In essence, Shopify does not inherently support sub-collections within main collections. However, within our theme, we have incorporated a template to achieve this functionality. Please check out our Sub Collection demo to see how this feature works.

Follow this guideline below to configure this feature:

1. Assign Sub template for Collection

1.1. Select "Sub" template in Collection Templates

When you import a theme file to Online Store -> Themes; we have an available "Sub" template, please select it.

You can find it here:

1.2. Assign "Sub" template for a specific collection

You need to assign template-specific collections that you want to use Sub-collection.

Notice: Collection Template in Product Shopify Dashboard only show templates of the PUBLISHED theme.

You will use the Collection List Section and then add collections to show Sub-collection. When you complete, you access the Products in Shopify Dashboard and assign a template.

We suggest you use Bulk Edit to assign template for many collections at one time.

2. Create different Sub-collections for another Main Collection

In case, you have different Sub-collections for another Main Collection; you need to Create a New template based on the "Sub" template.

Follow the video below to create a new "Sub" template.

Then you will configure the "Sub1" template similar to the "1. Assign Sub template for Collection" above.

3. Connect the Main Collection with Sub-collection in the navigation

If you want to show this collection on the Header, you will create the menu item for it in the Navigation.

Note: You need to use the Dropdown item for the header.
